The Best of Datsyuk

July 27, 2016

The 2016-17 NHL season will be the first season in quite some time that we won't be able to enjoy one of the most dynamic players in the game, Pavel Datsyuk. Datsyuk decided that he would play the remainder of his career overseas before this past season ended and then officially signed with St. Petersburg of the KHL during the off-season.

I thought this might be a good time to take a look back on a few of our favorite moments from Pavel Datsyuk's career, so here they are...

Pavel Datsyuk Vs. Corey Perry

It's not very often you'd catch #13 in a fight, but this one with Corey Perry was pretty epic considering the circumstances.

The Change Up Shootout Goal

There are a ton of shootout goals from Datsyuk that are worth a few watches, but this cheeky slow-mo shot has to be one of the all time best.

That Time When He Broke Logan Couture's Ankles

Once again, there are many dangles from Datsyuk that are worth watching, but this one that left Logan Couture on his posterior has to be one of my favorites of all time.

That Release Though...

Pavel Datsyuk has one of the best releases in the game and although he had numerous highlight reel goals in his career, this goal against the Kings showcases just how quick he could burn you.

2008 Stanley Cup Win

Datsyuk won two Stanley Cups (2002 and 2008), but the 2008 win was special because of what happened a year later when they would face the Penguins again. At least for me, it brings back memories of two of my favorite NHL seasons. Both final series were brilliant.
